3 Pole Contactor with Auxiliary Contacts

The CJ19C 3 Pole Contactor with Auxiliary Contacts is a specialized single-phase series device designed for switching low-voltage single-phase capacitors or for phase-wise (split) compensation of three-phase capacitors within automatic reactive power compensation equipment. This versatile product is suitable for AC power systems with a frequency of 50Hz and a rated working voltage up to 220V, capable of making and breaking capacitor loads up to 90kvar to effectively improve power factor. This single-phase capacitor switching contactor is an improved design developed by our factory, based on the original CJ19C (16C) model. To ensure its reliable function, the 3 Pole Contactor with Auxiliary Contacts must be operated and installed within the following defined parameters: a) Ambient air temperature: the upper limit is +40°C, the average value over 24 hours should not exceed +35°C, and the lower limit is -5°C. b) Altitude at the installation site must not exceed 2000m. c) Humidity: at the installation location, the air relative humidity should not exceed 50% when the temperature is +40°C. The average minimum temperature of the wettest month does not exceed +25°C, and that month's average maximum relative humidity does not exceed 90%. d) Pollution degree: 3. e) Installation category: III. f) Shock and vibration: The contactor must be installed where there is no significant shaking, impact, or vibration. g) Installation condition: The inclination of the contactor's mounting surface relative to the vertical plane should not be greater than 5°.

The working principle of this product is illustrated in Figure 1. The schematic diagram above the dotted line represents the circuit for switching capacitors, while the section below shows the single-phase capacitor bank. The early-make contacts, connected in series with resistors, constitute the resistor switching circuit. When the contactor's electromagnetic coil is energized, the resistor switching circuit closes ahead of the main contacts. Current initially passes through the resistors to charge the capacitors, a process that successfully inhibits the capacitor closing inrush current. Subsequently, the main contacts close to carry the full capacitive load. A key design benefit of this 3 Pole Contactor with Auxiliary Contacts is that once the task of inrush suppression is completed, the resistor circuit automatically disconnects from the main circuit and resets. This intelligent function significantly reduces the opportunity for the resistors to be damaged by overheating or burnout during the capacitor disconnection process, enhancing the overall durability and safety of your single-phase or split-phase compensation system. The inclusion of auxiliary contacts provides added flexibility for control and signaling within the compensation scheme, making this a comprehensive and reliable switching solution.

The CJ19C (Single-Phase)-80 contactor has three auxiliary contacts, with two combinations.

Auxiliary contact combinations are shown in Table 1. Auxiliary modules can be installed on both sides of the contactor to increase the number of auxiliary contacts.

 

Two types of auxiliary contacts are available:

LA8-DN11 (one normally open and one normally closed)

LA8-DN20 (two normally open); selected by the user when ordering.

External Dimensions and Installation Dimensions

The CJ19C (single-phase)-80 contactor can be installed using M6 screws and lock washers, or using 35mm or 75mm mounting rails.
